Commission on add-on sales calculated separately – the upsell shows up right after the transaction

Insurance, accessories, services and extended warranties have their own commission stream in Gamfi, and the advisor sees the earnings on the add-on right after the sale.

How it works

An upsell carries a higher margin than the core product, and it is usually rewarded last. Here the order is reversed.

  1. 1

You separate out the add-on products

Insurance, an accessory, a service, a warranty – each category gets its own rate, independent of the commission on the core product.

  2. 2

The transaction comes in from your system

The add-on sale flows in from the till or the sales system and instantly knows which stream it belongs to.

  3. 3

The advisor sees the earnings on the add-on

The calculation and points appear against that specific transaction, so the link between the upsell and the money is immediate.

  4. 4

The reward does not wait for the payout

Points land in the wallet and can be redeemed in the catalogue the same day, while the commission follows its own payout rhythm.

More, because it is one system

In commission systems, upselling is not a topic of its own – just another rule in the engine.

A reward visible on the day of the sale

An upsell loses not because the rate is too low, but because the reward arrives so late that the advisor no longer ties it to a specific conversation with the customer. In Gamfi, points for the add-on land in the wallet straight away and can be redeemed for a reward before the commission goes through its payout cycle. Commission systems do not do this, because they have neither a wallet nor a rewards catalogue.

The same add-on drives the commission and the contest

A sold add-on feeds the commission calculation, the leaderboard and the points pool at the same time – with no moving data between a commission tool and a motivation tool. That is exactly the mismatch that most often undermines trust in the number on screen in this category.

You can see what the company really earns from

The third pay component stops being a line in the end-of-quarter report: you can see how much upselling each region and each product category adds, next to the cost of the rewards you paid out for it.

Common questions

Open the one that applies to you.

Won't a reward for upselling encourage pushing products on customers?

That is a real risk and we do not pretend otherwise – in banking and insurance it is explicitly a matter for supervision. You can plug your own sales-quality indicator into the rules if you measure one, because we calculate the bonus from any KPI in your process, not just unit count. No system in this category today automatically adjusts a bonus by a complaints indicator – it is worth asking every vendor about that.

How is this different from an ordinary commission system?

The rules engine is the same one, and we describe it on the commission calculation page. Here it is about something else: an upsell needs its reward on the day of the sale, not after the month closes. That is why points, a rewards catalogue and a contest on a chosen product category run alongside the commission.

How does the system know a transaction is an upsell?

From the data you send us – from the product category or a line marker on the transaction. We agree this during rollout on your real assortment, because in every industry the line between the core product and the add-on sits in a different place.

What happens when a customer returns a product?

The calculation can be corrected, and the correction leaves a trace in the event log. We agree the rules for clawing back commission on a return during rollout – this is where commission plans differ between companies the most, so we do not force a single template.

Can we reward the add-on when a partner network sells it?

We run the partner-channel programme separately, together with registration and verification of reported sales – we describe it on the page about partner network programmes. The rules and settlement differ there, because the participant is not your employee.

What does the price depend on?

Several factors affect the price: the number of people, the range of modules and the complexity of the commission plan. We are happy to go through the details at a meeting and in the contact that follows.
